Charlie arrived at Clearly Canadian Alpacas on April 4/08 to take up the position of yard watchdog. He will take his place on the farm with Scout & Chief, the Pyrenees, to guard and protect. Charlie is a Bernese Mountain Dog breed mix. He is 6-7 months old and is already the size of a full-sized adult German Shepard. Judging by the size of his paws he isn't done growing yet! UPDATE: Charlie is proving to be a wonderful & fearless watchdog for our yard. Nothing escapes his notice. Yet he is a very loving and sociable fellow with his humans. Charlie especially endeared himself to us this summer when Lila fell in the barn while doing chores. Charlie was immediately to her rescue making sure she was o.k. and helping her to get up. At just over one year of age he weighs in at 77.2 lbs.

Welcome to our New Herdsurfer website. Our new website allows us to have up to the minute accuracy with regards to the staus of our herd and available alpaca products. The search functionality on our animals page allows our viewers to select exactly the type of animal they're searching for. Once an animal is found all the necessary information required to "pre-qualify" an animal is logically presented in a simple "one-view" form. Another great feature is our all new "4 Generation Pedigree". All of the animals listed on our site have the capacity to be presented with 4 generations of pedigree allowing viewers to readily assess lineage quality and value beyond just the dam and sire. Beyond the standard body shot pictures typically found on most alpaca sites, we can now include head, teeth, rear body shots and more in all of our animal listings, giving viewers greater understanding of the animals at hand.
